Boston Weddings x Scott M. Lacy
This was a project for Boston Weddings where I handled everything from the cover to the full lead editorial spread. Working on a cover is always a high-pressure task because the technical quality has to be perfect at a large scale, all while leaving clean space for the magazine's typography and masthead.
For the cover shot, I focused on the balance between the soft feel of the Charles River in the background and the sharp jewelry. I had to clean up distracting reflections on the earrings and the cuff to make them pop, ensuring the sparkle felt as expensive as it was. I also spent a lot of time on the model's skin and hair, keeping the look natural.
The interior spread, "Making Waves," was shot on location at the Harry Parker Boathouse, which meant dealing with a lot of environmental variables. I had to manage the exposure on various bridal whites to make sure no detail was lost. I also unified the color palette across the different locations, tying in the deep reds of the rowing shells and the wood tones of the boathouse to keep the whole story cohesive. It was a job that required a lot of cleanup on the backgrounds and garments to deliver a high-fashion result that felt right for a premium publication.
